O.o Why couldn’t Blaine do it? He’s been presented as an accomplished dancer. idk I think it would be weird to have 1 person backing up 2 people…tho I hope *he’s* not on lead and them backing *him* up :\ I’m thinking more how Klaincedes split LS

I know he’s an accomplished dancer, but it’s more of a character thing. Generally, when I think of Blaine dancing, it’s more in a performance capacity, with the singing being the primary function (like in Bad or WBSS). You Should Be Dancing? As you can tell from the name, has dancing as its primary function. I feel like Santana or Brit could pull it off. But Blaine generally has three modes of singing - fun and silly and a little flirty (LFN), heartfelt (SOWK), and serious/agressive (Bad, WBSS). While Darren would go at this performance with a mixture of silly/flirty and sensual, I think Blaine would go at it from the serious side. Which, um. Disco. Going at disco dancing with that kind of straight-facedness - particularly if they don’t have him change from his current bowtie-and-cardigan combo - is going to look kind of ridiculous. It doesn’t matter if he dances well if the attitude isn’t right. And if they have him follow the movie? I’m cringing in advance.

My hope is something like LS, yeah. But with that song, since it’s so high, it’s going to be really awkwardly autotuned (calling it now) if they have Blaine as lead. My hope is that he takes the “go right down to my blood” line, or “I wanna keep you warm”, which are both lower, while Brit and Santana take the majority of the verses. My fear is that it’s going to be a Blaine lead that’s badly autotuned ‘cause the’ll need to shift it up so oddly for his voice to fit, combined with Santana and Brit singing the “you should be dancing” parts, which would be frustrating for everyone involved.

BTW, this post isn’t in any way dissing Blaine or Darren. It’s just a criticism. They do some things well; they does some things not-so-well, and they have different strengths and weaknesses. This song, I think, would be one of Blaine’s, for more reasons than just the dancing.
